Capturing Moments That Last: A Senior Session at Lasting Images
There's something magical about senior portrait sessions - they mark the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. I recently had the privilege of photographing a gorgeous senior at Lasting Images, and the results are stunning!
Graduation’s almost here—it’s time for beautiful portraits to remember this moment!
The light that day was absolutely breathtaking. From full sun in all its Arizona glory to golden hour, it cast the most perfect warm glow across our outdoor locations, creating the dreamy, radiant effect that makes senior portraits so special. We also brought a full complement of the latest lighting gear to make the magic happen in a more dramatic way when needed. We moved between several outdoor spots nearby that showcase the best our area has to offer - each location chosen specifically to compliment her personality and style.
In the days before her session, I found a tree filled with dark pink spring blossoms that I knew would be perfect for one of the outfits she chose. The images we created there are among my favorites ever. The blossoms faded within days, that location was just for her.

What makes these milestone sessions so meaningful is the care we put into every step of the process. Before any senior session, we meet with our senior and parents for a portrait consultation where we discuss vision, outfits, locations, and any specific images they're dreaming of. This isn't just another photoshoot - it's about capturing the essence of who they are at this pivotal moment in their lives. This senior wanted to capture the truck she drives, the piano that she’s spent hours practicing at, and several outfits that she loves including a gorgeous blue and white tiered formal. I had the chance to use some dramatic lighting styles, and fun techniques to really highlight each of these!

One of our favorite tools for senior sessions is our custom style board. We create this digital inspiration hub that brings together all the session details, inspiration images, location ideas, and styling tips in one accessible place. Both our seniors and their parents love having this resource to reference as they prepare for the big day. They can choose from wall portraits, albums, custom graduation announcements and other unique products that tell their story perfectly. All of this takes time and care. By limiting the number of sessions we do, we can pour our creative energy into making each session truly one-of-a-kind.
